Turkish-German chamber deputy head has said that visa requirement for Turkish businessmen was completely a scandal.
Speaking to AA correspondent, Turkish-German Industry and Trade Chamber deputy head Rolf Konigs said that Turkish businessmen had several problems when they entered Germany. "Silly questions are asked to them which prevents Turkish-German trade. Visa practice must be lifted for them. Visa requirement for Turkish businessmen is completely a scandal," he said.
Konigs, who is among founders of the chamber with 440 members, said that the chamber aimed to contribute to improvement of relations between Turkey and Germany. "We are not doing politics, but business," he said.
Turkey was of great importance for Europe, he said, adding that he was against privileged partnership proposals for Turkey.
Konigs said that Turkey was mature enough to be a member of the EU, and he was also working for this goal.
