Turkey holds term presidency of EUREKA

Turkish Minister of Science Nihat Ergun stated that between July 2012 and June 2013 Turkey would be holding the term presidency of EUREKA.

Turkey holds term presidency of EUREKA

ISTANBUL

Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, Nihat Ergun stated that between July 2012 and June 2013 Turkey would be holding the term presidency of EUREKA, which has 42 member countries and is the supporter of researching and developing projects.

The international cooperation platform, EUREKA focuses on the Turkish market and supports the products which can become commercialized as soon as possible. 
Ergun said that the Turkish term presidency would be advantageous for firms in Turkey as well as improving the research&development policies.
Minister Ergun also added that these kind of programs brought not just economical benefits but also contributed to international relations. 
He said that these programs took important roles as tools of soft diplomacy and different countries would be uniting under the same roof thanks to these programs.
Turkish minister said that with the term presidency of Turkey, EUREKA  would be more active, dynamic and successful. Moreover, he said he believed from heart that EUREKA would become a more economic and diplomatic tool to be influential between countries.
Ergun underlined that the firms which cooperated with Turkish firms and undertook joint projects were profitable.
