Davutoglu reiterates Assad regime lost legitimacy
Davutoglu commented on the consensus reached on Syria at the Geneva meeting of June 30'th.
Speaking to Turkish reporters in Cairo where he attended the Conference of Syrian Opposition, Minister Davutoglu said that the consensus reached in Geneva did not mention anything implying that the Syrian regime should stay in power and Bashar al-Assad should not leave.
We must accurately understand the status following the Geneva meeting, Davutoglu stressed.
The consensus reached in Geneva foresees a period of transition and change as the Assad regime has lost legitimacy, Davutoglu stressed.
