Vienna Stock Exchange seeks enhanced cooperation with Borsa Istanbul

ISTANBUL (AA) - Vienna Stock Exchange CEO Michael Buhl said on Monday that they would like to enhance cooperation with Turkey's Borsa Istanbul stock exchange.

"Borsa Istanbul is developing day by day. We would like to step up our cooperation with it. We've had cooperation with Borsa Istanbul on the field of index last year. And we will be absolutely interested in the privatization of Borsa Istanbul if we are invited," Buhl told Anadolu Agency (AA).

Turkey merged the Istanbul Stock Exchange, Gold Exchange and Derivatives Exchange into Borsa Istanbul this year ahead of a planned privatization as it seeks to attract growing trade from the world’s leading investment banks and brokers.

In response to a question on the possible privatization of Borsa Istanbul, the Vienna Stock Exchange CEO said, "We are ready for everything. We are completely a private cooperation and there may be some strategic subjects that need to be considered but we don't have any taboo."
