ANKARA
11 companies, including 3 foreign ones, have bought specifications for the tender of the third bridge at Istanbul Strait to take place on Friday, April 20.
The tender involves the construction of the third bridge at the Istanbul Strait and construction of a highway that would be 414 kilometers long.
A tender had taken place for the third bridge and the highway on January 10 but no offers were made.
Having received no offers, the Turkish Ministry of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications revised the project and divided it into two parts.
Accordingly, the third bridge and 90 kilometers of surrounding roads will be contracted out by a build-operate-transfer model while the remaining 314 kilometers would be built by public funds.
The third bridge at the Istanbul Strait will be 1,275 meters long.
The tender on Friday will begin at 10.00 hours.
