British cyclist Mark Cavendish has won the second lap of the 51st Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey in Antalya, garnering his second straight win in the event.

The 29-year-old racer for the Etixx - Quick-Step team won the 182 kilometers-long lap in four hours, 21 minutes and 32 seconds, beating more than 160 other cyclists from 21 teams Monday.

He was followed by Italian Sacha Modolo, who races for the Lampre-Merida team, while Italian Nicola Ruffoni, who was racing for Bardiani - CSF, came in third.

Cavendish won the first stage Sunday, cycling the 145 kilometers-long lap in three hours, 17 minutes and 58 seconds. He was followed by Australian Caleb Ewan, who races for the Orica-GreenEDGE team, while Ruffoni from Bardiani - CSF came in third.

The British cyclist had won four laps during the 50th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey in 2014.

Cavendish has also won 25 Tour de France stages, placing him third on the all-time winners list of the world’s most famous cycling race. He also plans to represent the Isle of Man in this year’s Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

The third lap of the 51st Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey will take place Tuesday on a 165 kilometers-long route between the districts of Kemer and Elmali in Turkey's southern province of Antalya.

First organized in 1965 as the Marmara Cycling Tour, the Turkish tour has emerged as a showcase for Turkey's natural beauty and has been broadcast live by local and international TV channels since 2009.
