Trabzonspor want to get back on track
Black Sea side will host SAI Kayseri Erciyesspor in Turkey’s top football division, Spor Toto Super League
ANKARA
Sixth-placed Trabzonspor will try to revive their Turkish Spor Toto Super League campaign by defeating SAI Kayseri Erciyesspor on Friday.
Regarded as the fourth-biggest club in Turkey, the Black Sea side faces a lack of regular players at the Huseyin Avni Aker Stadium at 2000 local time (1800 GMT).
Algerian center-back Carl Medjani, Guinean midfielder Kevin Constant and Malian striker Mustapha Yatabare are all still on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Trabzonspor's Turkish left-winger Yusuf Erdogan is under suspension.
League leaders Fenerbahce will play away to Kardemir Karabukspor Saturday at 1900 local time (1700 GMT). Canaries’ captain Emre Belozoglu will miss the match because of thigh injury.
On Sunday, second-placed Besiktas will meet Mersin Idmanyurdu at Osmanli Stadium in Ankara. The Black Eagles’ Turkish striker Mustafa Pektemek has a facial injury so is unable to play. The match will start at 1600 local time (1400 GMT).
In the last game of the week, Galatasaray – third in the league – will host Bursaspor at Turk Telekom Arena on Sunday. The Lions' Turkish center-back Semih Kaya will be ineligible due to ligament problems.
The Istanbulite giants' Turkish playmaker in central midfield, Selcuk Inan, will miss the match owing to a yellow card suspension.
Galatasaray's Turkish goal poacher Burak Yilmaz may not be risked as he sustained fiber tear injury. The game will kick off at 2000 local time (1800 GMT).
