Fenerbahce narrowly defeat Antalyaspor as Portuguese winger Nani scores winning goal in injury time

Football: Fenerbahce on top of Turkish league

ANKARA

 Fenerbahce barely defeated Antalyaspor 2-1 in the Turkish Spor Toto Super League match on their home ground Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Sunday night.

Fenerbahce's Portuguese winger Nani stood out, scoring two goals including the winner on a free kick which sealed the victory in the last minute of injury time.

Fenerbahce now lead the league thanks to their goal average.

Defending league champions Galatasaray cruised past Torku Konyaspor 4-1 in an away match despite playing with 10 men for the final 24 minutes. This was Galatasaray's first win of the season.

Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz (1), center-back Semih Kaya (1) and Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder (2) scored for the Istanbul team.

Left-back Lionel Carole was shown his second yellow card and sent off for a dangerous tackle in the 66th minute. 

Galatasaray have four points and are in 10th position.

Besiktas traumatized Gaziantepspor 4-0 in an away match on Friday. All goals were scored after the 76th minute. Turkish midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup had the first goal , Turkish striker Cenk Tosun converted a penalty. Midfielder Olcay Sahan and winger Kerim Frei added two. 

Besiktas ranks third with six points. Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun leads the top scorers list with four goals.

During the international break, Turkey are to face Latvia on Sept. 3 and the Netherlands on Sept. 6 in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
