Football: Semifinal fever in UEFA Europa League

Napoli-Dnipro and Sevilla-Fiorentina matches will be played Thursday.

Football: Semifinal fever in UEFA Europa League

ISTANBUL 

The semifinals of Europe's second-tier international club-level football tournament, UEFA Europa League, will begin Thursday.

Title contenders Napoli will host Ukraine's Dnipro at San Paolo Stadium. Napoli will be on the pitch without their Spanish backup forward Michu, who reportedly has thigh injury.

Meanwhile, Dnipro's Ukrainian forward Roman Zozulya and midfielder Yevhen Shakhov will also miss the game in Naples because of injuries.

Reigning Europa League winners, Sevilla from Spain, will meet Italian club Fiorentina in Seville. Home team Sevilla's Argentine defender Nicolas Pareja is also ineligible because of knee injury. Visitors Fiorentina's Senegalese forward Khouma Babacar will miss the game at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan because of knee injury.

In addition, Fiorentina's Italian forward Giuseppe Rossi is unable to play against Sevilla because of also knee injury.

Both games will kick off at 20:05 GMT.

Second legs of the semis will be played on May 14.
