GAZA CITY

A boy was killed in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday when a projectile left behind since the latest Israeli offensive on the Palestinian territory exploded.

The boy, 4, was killed in the northern Gaza Strip city of Beit Hanoun when a projectile left behind in Gaza by the Israeli military during the offensive on the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qodra.

He told Anadolu Agency that the boy was seriously injured by the blast before he died at Al-Shefaa Hospital in Gaza City later.

The Interior Ministry in the Gaza Strip said on Tuesday that its bomb disposal experts had got rid of 10 tons of explosives left behind by the Israeli army.

Israel launched a 51-day war – that ended on August 26 – on the Gaza Strip, killing 2,157 people and injuring more than 11,000 others.

Israeli attacks also left thousands of Palestinian homes and government facilities either in total or partial destruction.
