Gul: Terror and violence can reach nowhere
ANKARA (AA) - August 5, 2012 - Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Sunday said that the terrorist organization PKK entered a phase of a daftly plan in the holy month of Ramadan.
In an evaluation made on his Twitter account, President Gul said that Turkish security forces began a heavy struggle against the terrorist organization as a precursory measure and not to give an opportunity to the terrorists.
"Unfortunately, we have martyrs which have wounded our hearts. I wish them God's mercy and offer condolences to their families and the whole nation," Gul also said.
6 Turkish troops and 2 village guards were killed late on Saturday in south-eastern province of Hakkari in a clash between Turkish security forces and PKK terrorists.
12 terrorists were killed while 15 troops, 1 village guard and 5 civilians were injured in the same clash.

ANKARA (AA) - August 5, 2012 - Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Sunday said that terror and violence can reach nowhere by bloodshed and tears.
According to the website of the Turkish Presidency, President Gul spoke with the Chief of Turkish General Staff, General Necdet Ozel and received information on the developments in the south-eastern province of Hakkari where 6 Turkish troops and 2 village guards were killed late on Saturday in a clash with PKK terrorists.
In a written statement released on Sunday, President Gul said he felt deep sadness over the demise of 6 Turkish troops and 2 village guards, and the injuries of 15 troops, 1 village guard and 5 civilians.
"I curse this wicked attack with hatred," President Gul stressed.
"Everyone must see that terror and violence can reach nowhere by bloodshed and tears. Such attacks will not weaken the authority of our state and hurt our will for co-existence. The threat of terror will be eradicated by the determination of our nation, the strength of our state and the means of our country," Gul underlined.
"I call on those whose hands hold weapons and those who commit acts of violence to return from the wrong road they are on," Gul stressed.
"Terrorists who target the unity of our nation, the territorial integrity of our country, and the tranquility and safety of our citizens will surely get the response they deserve in the heaviest way possible," Gul said.
I share the pain of the families of our martyrs, Gul stated.
"I wish God's mercy to our martyrs and offer condolences to their families, our nation and the Turkish Armed Forces. I convey my wishes for speedy recovery to all those injured in last night's clashes," Gul also said.
