Fifteen suspects were arrested Wednesday following attacks on the Hurriyet newspaper’s offices in Istanbul, according to a security source.
The newspaper’s premises came under attack by stone-throwing mobs on Sunday and Tuesday evening. The initial attack came after the newspaper was accused of posting a misleading tweet relating to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s comments on the violence in Turkey and the general election.
The source said officers from Bagcilar arrested the suspects in relation to Tuesday night’s attack, which coincided with anti-PKK protests across the country following a heavy death toll among security forces personnel since Sunday.
