The participants of Anadolu Agency's (AA) war journalism program received their certificates on Friday in a ceremony attended by AA Executive Board Chairman and Director General Kemal Ozturk and Police Academy Acting President Hasan Huseyin Cevik in Ankara.
17 participants learned how to work under challenging circumstances like war and dangerous zones during the 12-day program.
The participants received training from police officers, military officials and academicians under the program.
AA's war journalism program was the first ever in the history of the Republic of Turkey and the second one in the world.

Such a training program was available in rare centers in the world

Speaking at the ceremony, AA Board Chairman and Director General Kemal Ozturk said the program was aimed at giving a proper training to journalists in AA who would be assigned in crisis zones like many leading news agencies in Europe, adding that he considered the training program as "a human right."

Ozturk said such a training program was available in rare centers in the world, adding AA's program was conducted in cooperation with the Police Academy and the Turkish Armed Forces.
Ozturk also urged other media institutions in Turkey to give a similar training to their employees to be assigned in crisis zones.
