Anadolu Agency was among a number of leading media outlets attending a Shanghai Cooperation Organization Media Leaders Forum in Moscow on Tuesday.

"People are killed in conflicts everyday around the world, including Egypt and Syria. News agencies have a very important mission of reporting such events," Anadolu Agency's Deputy Director-General Metin Mutanoglu told the forum participants in a presentation on "pluralism".

Noting that Anadolu Agency has global partnerships with around 61 news agencies, Mutanoglu highlighted the importance of participating in joint projects and sharing opinions.

Organized by Rossiya Segodnya and Russia's Federal Agency for Press and Mass Media, the event brought together the SCO leading media outlet heads, including China's Xinhua News Agency, Iran's IRNA, Turkey's TRT, Kyrgyzstan's Kabar National News Agency, Tajikistan's Khovar National Information Agency, RTRK Kazakhstan and India Today Group, according to Russian Sputnik News Agency.

Media market leaders and experts from 13 SCO member states, observer states and dialogue partners discussed approaches to forming a common SCO information space, it said.
