ANKARA

Istanbul’s Sabanci University has won the title of Turkey’s most “entrepreneurial and innovative” college.

Turkish science minister Fikri Isik announced on Monday the 2015 results of an Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index prepared by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) in Ankara.

Isik said Sabanci University ranked first with 88.4 points among the best 50 universities in the country.

Ankara’s Middle East Technical University (ODTU) ranked second with 85.9 points and Istanbul’s Bogazici University was third with 79.6 points.

The index used 23 indicators to evaluate universities’ scientific and technological research competence, cooperation, entrepreneurship and economic contribution.

On April 30, three of Turkey’s universities – Koc, Sabanci and Bilkent – ranked among the world’s best 100 universities under 50 years of age in a survey by the U.K.’s Times Higher Education publication.
