23 injured as Air Canada plane crash lands at Halifax

HALIFAX, Canada (AA) -

Several people remain hospitalized after an Air Canada flight skidded off the runway as it made a crash landing at Canada's Halifax International Airport early Sunday.

Air Canada confirmed that 18 passengers of the 23 passengers and crew admitted to area hospitals for observation and treatment of minor injuries were now released.

The airline said that Flight AC624, an Airbus A320, was carrying 133 passengers and 5 crew members when the incident occurred.

All passengers and crew have deplaned, and no life threatening injuries have been reported.

Air Canada said it would be cooperating fully with authorities in their investigation.
