Runners-up Wolfsburg stun Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich 4-1 at Volkswagen Arena

German top football division Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich were smashed by runners-up Wolfsburg 4-1 at Volkswagen Arena in the opening match of the matchday 18.
Home team Wolfsburg's Dutch striker Bas Dost and Belgian attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne scored two goals each on Friday night. Visitors Bayern Munich's consolation goal was scored by Spanish left-winger Juan Bernat. Wolfsburg narrowed the gap to eight points, while Bavarian giants Bayern Munich's 17-match unbeaten run in the league came to an end.
On Saturday Schalke 04 won against Hannover 96 1-0 at Veltins Arena. German midfielder Marco Hoger brought the glory for "Die Knappen" (The Miners). The Gelsenkirchen club climbed to fourth place in the league table.
Meanwhile Borussia Dortmund hit the bottom of Bundesliga after the 0-0 draw against Bayer Leverkusen at BayArena. "Die Schwarzgelben" (The Black and Yellows) have only 16 points.
