ANKARA

The Anadolu Agency on Monday has launched a new mobile phone application -- an app -- that features news in English. 

Users may now access the agency's news on the go on their iPhone and Android mobile devices following the launch of a new smartphone application.

The agency's new app can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play and the Apple Store. It has been specially designed to allow users instantaneous access to news from Turkey, the region and around the world.

The English version of the mobile app comes as the agency has received many requests from its global users abroad.

News, photographs and videos from the news agency’s website, www.aa.com.tr/en, can also be found on the app.

There are six main categories in the app, including Headlines, Turkey, World, Business, Sports and Other. Users can also receive notifications from news categories they may select.

Meanwhile, the Turkish mobile app has already grabbed a lot of attention inside and outside of Turkey following the upgrade to its new version on November. 

The agency also upgraded an app on the iPad platform. 

The Anadolu Agency is a well-established global news agency offering newswires in eight languages, with operations in most major regions around the globe, including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Asia-Pacific, and serves business customers in more than 100 countries. The launch of the new app is part of AA's Centennial Vision, which is a plan to make AA one of the top five news agencies in the world by 2020.
