Goodbye basketball, hello kickboxing! Former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Darko Milicic has retired from the game of basketball to become a professional kickboxer.

According to nbaserbia.com, Milicic will officially become a pro-kickboxer on Wednesday in Belgrade after signing a contract with the World Kickboxing Association (WAKO).

The report also said that Milicic will sign a contract with Barbara Falsoni, director of WAKO PRO, who will also announce the first kickboxing match of the former NBA player.

29-year-old Power Forward Milicic was the second pick of Detroit Pistons back in 2003 and became the top-ranked Serb in the history of the NBA draft.

However, he could not respond to the big expectations from different NBA teams and averaged only 6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 468 games.

Milicic has not been part of the NBA since 2012 when he was released from his last team, Boston Celtics, by his own request.
