Regime attacks kill 64 in Syria

ALEPPO, Syria  

At least 64 people were killed by Syrian regime forces on Friday following the heavy weapons attacks on the opposition-held areas, according to opposition activists. 

The London-based Syrian Network for Human Rights said 24 people died in Damascus suburbs, 20 in Aleppo, 7 in Daraa, 4 in Hama, 3 in each Raqqa and Idlib and 2 in each Homs and Latakia in ground and aerial assaults by regime forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad.

Meanwhile, according to the Syria's state news agency SANA, Syrian army “neutralized” scores of armed men and annihilated their vehicles.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March, 2011. A recent UN report has said more than 191,000 people are believed to have been killed in the country.
