JERUSALEM

Nine Israelis were injured in a rocket barrage from the Gaza Strip at Tel Aviv on Thursday.

The Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency agency, said the nine were injured by shrapnel from rockets fired from the Gaza Strip at Tel Aviv, Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot reported.

Israeli army earlier said that several rockets had been intercepted by Iron Dome defense system over central Israel.

Three rockets were intercepted over Petah Tikva and Bat Yam and two others were intercepted over Aviv.

Two rockets were also fired at Israel's Ben-Gurion airport, the Ezzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' armed wing, said Thursday.

Violence raged in the Palestinian territories since Israel launched a devastating military offensive in the Gaza Strip on July 7 with the stated aim of halting rocket fire.

At least 732 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4500 others injured in relentless Israeli attacks on the blockaded seaside enclave.

Gaza-based Palestinian factions, for their part, have continued to fire rockets at Israeli cities in response to the ongoing Israeli attacks.

At least 32 Israelis, including 30 soldiers, have been killed since the hostilities began.
