PM Erdogan: "Differences are not a disadvantage"

ISTANBUL

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday said that differences were not a disadvantage but on the contrary a great advantage in a speech he made at a Turkey Innovation Week meeting in Istanbul, adding that Turkey needs to work hard to become the centre of attraction with its vision and projects.

“A society or country where everybody thinks the same can not produce new ideas. A society with standard identities, shapes or minds can not go forward or become a leader,” Erdogan added.

Erdogan stated that eight thousand projects were funded by TUBITAK (Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Institute) with 2.5 billion TL for research and development purposes in the last 11 years.

Prime Minister Erdogan congratulated all institutions, administrators and entrepreneurs who were found worthy of awards in innovation leadership, university and projects branches in the Innovation Week event.
