  • 15:38   (DIP) TURKISH PM RECEIVES FOREIGN MINISTERS OF BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA AND SERBIA
    Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Bosnia-Herzegovina's Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj and Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic in his office in Ankara on Tuesday.
       Delivering a brief speech at the meeting, Erdogan said Bosnia-Herzevogina's decision to send an ambassador to Serbia was a pleasing one.
       Foreign ministers Alkalaj and Jeremic attended Turkey-Bosnia Herzegovina-Serbia trilateral consultancy meeting in Ankara.
       After the meeting, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Alkalaj and Jeremic held a joint press conference.

  • 15:34   (DIP) TURKEY'S EU NEGOTIATOR DEPARTS FROM BRITISH CAPITAL
    Turkey's EU negotiator completed his talks and departed from the British capital of London on Tuesday.
       As part of his visit to Britain, Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU Talks Egemen Bagis attended a seminar titled "Turkey's Role in Rising Network World" organized by Global Strategy Forum and held talks with British Minister of State for Europe Chris Bryant.
       Justice and Development (AK) Party's deputy chairman Kursad Tuzmen, Turkish Parliament's EU Adjustment Committee chairman Yasar Yakis, AK Party's deputy chairman for external affairs Suat Kiniklioglu, Turkish Prime Minister's Chief Adviser on Foreign Policy Ibrahim Kalin and AK Party deputy Nursuna Memecan accompanied Bagis during his visit.

  • 15:33   (ECO) TURKISH STATE MINISTER IN PARIS
    Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan visited the trade shows of "Texworld" and "Premiere Vision" as part of his visit to Paris.
       Some 70 Turkish firms take part in the Texworld fair and products of 70 Turkish firms are on display in the Premiere Vision trade show.
       Caglayan held brief talks with representatives of participating firms.
       Caglayan is currently in France to attend the ongoing "Turkish Season" activities in Paris.
       The Turkish Season activities began in France in July with a show of the "Fire of Anatolia" dance group. The event aims at promoting Turkey in France with nearly 400 artistic and cultural activities in more than 70 cities for nine months.

  • 15:07   (DIP) TURKEY, INDIA ISSUE DECLARATIONS ON COMBATING TERRORISM AND TECHNOLOGICAL COOPERATION
    Turkey and India issued joint declarations on combating terrorism and scientific & technological cooperation during Turkish President Abdullah Gul's visit to India.
       The declaration on fighting against terrorism said that terrorism was a big threat against global peace and security, noting that terrorism could not be associated with any religion, nation, civilization or ethnic group.
       Turkey and India confirmed their common commitments in combating terrorism and these commitments constituted an important part of efforts of the international community aiming to eliminate terrorism, it said.
       The declaration said the two countries have decided to boost cooperation in fight against terrorism.
       The other declaration said Turkey and India are eager to boost cooperation in the areas of science and technology.
       It said the two countries would encourage and promote relations between representatives from technology sectors of the two countries.
       Joint seminars, scientific conferences, workshops and joint research projects would be held between Turkey and India, it said.

  • 15:04   (DIP) TURKISH PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE MEMBERS TRAVEL TO SWEDEN
    Members of the Turkish Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee travelled to Sweden for a formal visit on Tuesday.
       Members of the committee, led by chairman Murat Mercan, will be received by Swedish Parliament Speaker Per Westerberg and the country's Minister of International Development & Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson as part of their visit.
       Turkish lawmakers will also meet with Goran Lennmarker, the head of Swedish parliament's committee on foreign affairs, and Anna Kingberg, the chairperson of the parliament's committee on EU affairs during their stay in Sweden.
