One of the 34 people, who allegedly used social media networks to make "false accusations to create turmoil" in Gezi Park protests, was under police custody on Thursday in the western port city of Izmir.

Security sources said the other 33 detainees have been released and 4 people were sought by police on similar charges.

Heavy-handed police tactics on demonstrators who staged a sit-in at Taksim Gezi Park last week sparked anti-government protests. Social media networks such as Twitter have been used extensively during protests that entered into their ninth day.
