AA reporters face tough challenges in Ferguson

WASHINGTON

The Anadolu Agency reporters covering the protests at Ferguson, Missouri on Monday and Tuesday have faced up to a tough challenge.

AA photo reporter Cem Ozdel’s camera was damaged after being hit by a stone while taking photos of the violent protests.

AA reporter Bilgin Sasmaz, who was following protests in New York, was threatened with arrest by two policemen, after he took photos of security forces arresting some protesters.

A lap-top, two camera objectives, a flash and other technical equipment were stolen from the car of AA freelancer Tayfun Coskun. Coskun was covering protests in Oakland, while thieves broke up the front car glass at the parking and stole the equipment.

Thousands of demonstrators are demonstrating across the U.S. since Monday after a Missouri grand jury declined to indict white police officer Darren Wilson for fatally shooting unarmed black teen Michael Brown in August.
