UN-Arab League envoy departs from Hatay

Brahimi said that he would inform officials in New York on his assessments regarding his visit to Altinozu accommodation facilities where Syrians are staying.

UN-Arab League Special Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi said on Tuesday that he would inform officials in New York on his assessments regarding his visit to Altinozu accommodation facilities in the southern province of Hatay where Syrians are staying. 

Brahimi visited Turkish Prime Ministry Disaster & Emergency Management Directorate's accommodation facilities in Hatay and departed from the province for Amman.
Officials quoted Brahimi as telling Syrians that he paid this visit to listen to them, stating that he would hold talks for a solution of the problem. He added he would also inform officials in New York on his assessments.
Earlier in the day Brahimi met with Hatay Governor Mehmet Celalettin Lekesiz, saying that he would like to thank Turkey for its hospitality. "We heard that Syrians are welcomed and being treated well in Turkey. We hope that peace would be ensured in their country soon," he said.

Brahimi, who is paying a visit to Turkey's southern province of Hatay, met with governor Mehmet Celalettin Lekesiz, saying that he came to Hatay to visit a camp where Syrians were staying.
Brahimi said he would like to thank Turkey for its hospitality. "We heard that Syrians are welcomed and being treated well in Turkey. We hope that peace would be ensured in their country soon," he said.
Governor Lekesiz said they wished that chaos would end in Syria as soon as possible.
Lekesiz said he believed that Brahimi would contribute to settlement of peace in Syria. 
Later Brahimi proceeded to Turkish Prime Ministry Disaster & Emergency Management Directorate's Altinozu accommodation facilities in Hatay.
