League leaders Chelsea drew against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, in London, while runners-up Manchester City hammered Newcastle United 5-0 at Etihad Stadium, in Manchester.

ANKARA 

Liverpool toppled Southampton 2-0 in a Premier League game Sunday to reach the sixth place in the standings.

Brazilian attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho and English winger Raheem Sterling were the scorers.

Premier League leaders Chelsea drew against Burnley 1-1 Saturday. Chelseas's Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic scored the first goal in the 14th minute, but Burnley tied the game thanks to their English defender Ben Mee's goal in the 81st minute.

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic was sent off in the 70th minute.

Meanwhile runners-up Manchester City hammered Newcastle United 5-0 at Etihad Stadium. Argentine star forward Sergio Aguero, French midfielder Samir Nasri, Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko and Spanish attacking midfielder David Silva -- finding the net twice -- were the scorers.

Manchester City narrowed the point gap with Chelsea to five points.

Arsenal won against Crystal Palace 2-1 in an away match Saturday thanks to goals by Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla and French striker Olivier Giroud.

The London club climbed to third place in the standings with 48 points.

Manchester United were stunned by Swansea City in Wales on Saturday, losing 2-1. Visitors Manchester United took the lead when their Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera scored in the 28th minute. But Swansea rallied back to win thanks to goals from their South Korean midfielder Ki Sungyueng and their French striker Bafetimbi Gomis.

Manchester United dropped to the fourth place in the standings.
