ANKARA 

The British press reported on Wednesday that Arsenal's former French star Thierry Henry is set to join the BBC and Sky Sports as a sports commentator.

Having recently ended his 20-year professional football career, Henry accepted Sky Sports' job offer of €30 million for six years work.

The 37-year old former French forward will thus become the highest paid commentator in the United Kingdom.

Henry will also work for the BBC during important football tournaments.

"It seems to be a logical choice.Thus, I stayed close to football and I will help the fans understand the game," the former Arsenal star said.

Having started his career in French team Monaco, Henry, then played for many significant European clubs such as Italian team Juventus, English Premier League club Arsenal, Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona and U.S. side New York Red Bulls.

He managed to score 344 goals in 709 matches over the course of his club career.

Thierry Henry scored 51 times for the French National Football Team in 123 international appearances.
