Matchday 35 has ended in the English Premier League with leaders Liverpool managing to increase the point gap to five against runners-up Chelsea with three games to spare.

Runners-up Chelsea received a shocking defeat at home on Saturday.

Sunderland won against "The Blues" 2-1 although Chelsea's Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto'o scored the opening goal of the match.

Sunderland equalized the levels thanks to their forward Connor Wickham, while their Italian forward, Fabio Borini, scored the leading goal for his team from a penalty which determined the result. 

League leaders Liverpool defeated Norwich City 3-2 in an away match on Sunday thanks to their 19-year-old youngster Raheem Sterling scoring two goals.

Another was scored by Liverpool's Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez.

Meanwhile, Norwich City tried to narrow the gap with their English forward Gary Hooper and Scottish right-winger Robert Snodgrass. 

Arsenal cruised past Hull City 3-0 in an away match on Sunday thanks to two goals being scored by German forward Lukas Podolski and a single one being netted by Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey. 

Everton toppled Manchester United 2-0 at home with home team Everton finishing the job in the first half.

"The Toffees" English left-back Leighton Baines scored the opening goal of the game from a penalty kick. Through to the end of the first half, Belgian forward Kevin Mirallas' goal for Everton clinched the victory against the "Red Devils".

Manchester City won against West Bromwich Albion 3-1 in Manchester on Monday.

The home team ran for the victory with their Argentine players Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis and Sergio Aguero who each scored.

Meanwhile, West Bromwich Albion tried to close the gap with their Scottish winger Graham Dorrans.
