Bayern Munich reached the final stage in German Cup (DFB-Pokal) after beating a lower division team, Kaiserslautern, 5-1 in their home ground Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

"Die Bayern" finished the job in the first half. The Bavarian team's German box-to-box midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger scored the opening goal of the match in the 23rd minute. Nine minutes later, Bayern's German midfielder Toni Kroos doubled the score and the first half ended 2-0 in favor of the home team Bayern Munich.

In the second half, Bayern enhanced the pressure as Thomas Muller scored his team's third goal. In the 60th minute, Kaiserslautern's 22-year-old German central forward Simon Zoller managed to score the consolation goal for his team to make the score 3-1.

In the remaining time, Bayern Munich's Croatian forward Mario Mandzukic and German wunderkind Mario Gotze each found the net and Bayern, who were coasting through the game, won the game 5-1.

Last year's German Cup winners Bayern Munich are now in the finals once again. "Die Bayern" will meet Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup final to be played at Olympiastadion (Berlin Olympic Stadium) on May 17.
