At the end of trading on Monday, the ruble managed to claw its way to 55.26 and 67.89 to the dollar and euro respectively.
This has been the most significant comeback since last Tuesday, when the Russian currency lost more than 20 percent of its value in one day.
Last Thursday and Friday saw the ruble starting with modest gains only to slide later in the day, Monday saw a slow but unbroken rise against the dollar and the euro.
The RTS index also made a gain from last week to 810.94 on Monday morning, reaching 811.03 in the evening.
