Romanian artist Otilia to release Turkish song

MERSIN, Turkey

Popular Romanian singer Otilia will sing a song in Turkish to show her love for the Turkish people and Turkey.

Otilia, who became widely known for her song "Bilionera," made the remarks in an interview Tuesday with The Anadolu Agency in Turkey's southern province of Mersin.

"I love Turkish people and really want to give them a gift in Turkish. I am very excited. I am making preparations (for the song in) Turkish words," she said.

Otilia will make a duet with a Turkish singer, Serdar Ortac, and the song will be released in 20 countries. She said her aim was to conquer the hearts of her Turkish fans again.

"I love everything in Turkey. It is true. It comes from my heart. I love Turkey. I love the people, the weather and the buildings. I feel like I’m at home here in Turkey," she said.

Otilia has sang songs in many languages including Romanian, English, Russian, Spanish and French.

Her hit "Bilionera" was at the number one spot on many radios stations across Europe, including Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Greece and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The song hit almost 40 million views on YouTube.

The Mersin International Music Festival was officially launched at a press conference Tuesday, however, concerts were scheduled to begin April 30 that will last until May 24. World known artists, including Die Wiener Strauss company, Turkish pianist Fazil Say and Le Div4s are expected to take part in the festival.
