Anadolu Agency has begun distributing world news to Turkish Airlines’ 60 million passengers.

Turkey's national carrier and the country’s oldest news agency signed the “Global News on Global Wings” agreement last year covering inflight news provision on journeys to some of the airline’s 260 destinations.

On a recent flight from Istanbul to San Francisco, passenger Bahadir Acikel praised Anadolu Agency as being among the major news agencies in the world.

Underlining the importance of fast, reliable and impartial news to frequent travelers, he congratulated the agency on its service.

Fellow passenger Caglar Aydin added: “It is more important for us to follow our agenda from our own agency.”

The airline’s passengers receive instant bulletins and images via satellite on politics, economics, sports, health, culture and art and science and technology.

The service will be provided on 29 Turkish Airlines aircraft by the end of the year
