The sixth World Forum on Energy Regulation, sponsored by The Anadolu Agency, will bring more than a 100 speakers and moderators to Istanbul in May.

Organized by Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority, or EMRA, the forum will take place at The Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Centre between May 25 and 28.

The forum aims to develop a common approach to energy regulation by bringing together regulatory heads and representatives from developed and developing countries.

The conference will interest regulatory agencies, energy companies, specialists and academicians alike.

The speakers and moderators were selected after 14 months of discussions and were formally invited by EMRA. With 120 moderators and speakers, the event will have a total of 24 sessions with various topics such as integrating energy networks, universal energy access and the role of the regulator in security of supply.

The forum will also host two special sessions relating to the struggle of energy-poor regions of the world and a G20 session, as energy will be one of the main topics of the G20 agenda in 2015 under the Turkish presidency.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to make the opening speech at the event this year.
