Turkish official: AA Energy Terminal is strategic move
Turkish energy minister says Anadolu Agency realized a substantial strategic move with new AA Energy News Terminal.

Turkey's energy minister said Friday that The Anadolu Agency had made an important move by launching its AA Energy News Terminal -- a website devoted to news about energy developments and their ramifications.
"AA achieved a major step forward with the AA Energy News Terminal in journalism for the energy sector," the minister, Taner Yildiz, said.
Yildiz and Mustafa Yilmaz, president of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, were attending the Fifth Turkey Energy Summit in Gaziantep.
Yildiz said Anadolu Agency has been reporting impartial and reliable news almost for a century. The Energy News Terminal is another step in the right direction, he said.
"I congratulate Anadolu Agency on their great success," Yildiz said. "The developments in energy area are reshaping delicate political and economic balances."
"Global and local developments in the energy sector may affect all the relationships," he said. "We have to plan and manage those relationships very well. Turkey in a key position with critical geography supply advantages, and Turkey has the capability to benefit from those advantages."
He said The Anadolu Agency would help the country in that regard.
Yilmaz, the president of the energy authority, agreed that creating the AA EnergyTerminal was a significant step forward.
"I sincerely congratulate The Anadolu Agency for that strategic move and we are ready to do our full share of work as our own duty if it is necessary," Yilmaz said.
He said he was proud that AA was reporting in eight languages. And he said that, by starting its enhanced coverage of energy news in English on a separate terminal, the agency had enhanced its capabilities.
AA has organized a team to report news that is specific to the energy sector.
"Energy is an essential channel to shape countries' politics, so we cannot miss the mark not only in the energy sector but also in energy news," Yilmaz said. "The news produced can direct the energy market. In that sense, your duty is very significant."
"As a serious agency, AA is working on energy news reporting intensively," Yilmaz said. "These efforts will be conducive to positive developments both for our country and our region."
